What stories would your grandmother tell if someone had recorded her voice?

For our April meeting, we’re thrilled to host Sara Janes from the Lakehead University Archives for Herstories – Listening to Women’s History.

This special presentation explores a remarkable collection of recorded interviews with Northwestern Ontario women, voices and memories preserved for future generations.

Are you connected to one of the surnames listed on the poster? This may be your opportunity to discover a meaningful piece of your own history.

Join us Wednesday, April 15th, 7–9 pm – Zoom register here – https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/Tws_Q9_BR2-S3_Pupfd9Zw

Everyone welcome! 🙂

“In 2024, the Archives received a donation of 70 audio cassettes, containing oral history recordings made almost 50 years ago by the Northwestern Ontario Women’s Decade Council. The researchers, as part of this Herstory project, travelled to small towns around the region to interview women from a variety of walks of life. Over 100 women’s stories are represented in the collection. A unique historical record was gathered, but access to this work has been limited to date.”
