November 2016 meeting: DNA + Annual General Meeting

Our next program is full and exciting!  On Tuesday, November 29, we will meet at our regular location at the Community Resource Room at Mary JL Black Library, from 7-9 pm.  We will hold our Annual General Meeting, and have two presentations as well, both having to do with DNA (see below)!

“The Identity Hunters” by Janet Roy

Janet Roy is the Forensic Genealogy Coordinator with the mortuary services firm MacKinnon & Bowes in Toronto. She is a “Contractor” assisting the Canadian National Defence with the identification of Casualties from past conflicts, having been involved since 2005, when the program was in the research phase.

“3 Things You Can Do with DNA” by Clare Cook

Clare Cook is a professional genealogist and has been using DNA tests and results to help solve genealogy puzzles.  She’s been working on her family history for more than 10 years and particularly enjoys doing research about immigrant generations.
